Human Interleukin 1 Alpha ELISA Kit

Antibodies.com provides a sandwich ELISA kit for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Interleukin 1 Alpha (IL-1 alpha) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate (12 x 8 well strips). Standards and samples are added; IL-1 alpha is captured by the immobilised antibody and detected using a biotinylated anti-IL-1 alpha antibody followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate produces a colour change read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader. The reported standard range is 31.2-2000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of 11.6 pg/ml, and the protocol takes approximately 4 hours 30 minutes.

Spike-and-recovery testing (n=5) gave averages of 91% in serum, 96% in EDTA plasma and 95% in heparin plasma. Dilutional linearity at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 produced recovery ranges of 83-110%, 79-100%, 90-98% and 82-108% in serum, with comparable values reported for EDTA and heparin plasma. Kit components include the pre-coated plate, lyophilised standard, detection solutions A and B, 30X wash buffer, sample dilution buffer, TMB substrate, stop solution and plate sealers, stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed.
