The kit employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique, with a specific antibody pre-coated onto a 96-well microplate. Standards or test samples are added to the wells; following incubation and washing, a Biotinylated Anti-target Antibody is added, followed by HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then used to visualize the reaction, producing a blue-coloured product that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. The concentration of Inhibin A is calculated by reading absorbance at 450 nm in a microplate reader and referring to a standard curve.

The quantitative range is 15.6-1000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of 4.36 pg/ml, and the total assay time is approximately 4 hours 30 minutes.
