The Antibodies.com Human IL12 p40 ELISA Kit is a quantitative sandwich immunoassay used to measure the IL-12 p40 subunit (also known as IL-12B) in human research samples. This 96-well microplate format delivers a detection range of 31.25 to 2000 pg/mL with a sensitivity of approximately 10 pg/mL, supporting reproducible cytokine profiling across cell culture supernatant, heparin plasma, and serum samples. Each kit contains a pre-coated strip plate, lyophilized recombinant human IL-12 p40 standards, biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, wash buffer, substrate solution, stop solution, and assay diluent sufficient for 96T determinations. Reconstituted standards and diluted samples (typically 100 µL per well) are incubated sequentially with capture antibody and detection reagents, with absorbance measured at 450 nm following the chromogenic reaction. Because p40 is also a subunit of IL-23, the assay detects both IL-12 and IL-23 heterodimers, an important consideration when interpreting immune response data. Unopened kits should be refrigerated upon arrival; reconstituted reagents should be aliquoted and frozen to limit freeze-thaw cycles and maintain long-term stability. The assay is intended for research use only.
