Human IL 6R alpha ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA kit from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human IL 6R alpha in cell culture supernatant, serum, and plasma. The assay is based on the quantitative sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay technique, in which a monoclonal antibody specific for human IL-6 Ra is immobilized onto microwells. Standards or samples are pipetted into the wells, followed by the addition of a biotin-linked detection antibody specific for IL-6 Ra. During the first incubation, IL-6 Ra present is bound by the immobilized antibody and the detection antibody. After removal of any unbound substances, streptavidin-HRP is added for a second incubation. Following washing, substrate solution reacts with HRP and colour develops in proportion to the amount of IL-6 Ra bound by the immobilized antibody. Colour development is stopped by addition of acid, and the optical density value is measured by microplate reader.

The kit has shown no significant cross-reactivity and can assay both native and recombinant human IL-6 Ra. Sensitivity is reported as 0.16 pg/ml, with an assay range of 15.63 - 1000 pg/ml. Detection is colorimetric on a microplate platform. The kit should be stored at +4°C and must not be used past its expiration date.
