Human IL-6 ELISA Kit (High Sensitivity)

Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this high-sensitivity ELISA kit is intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of human IL-6 in cell culture supernatant, serum, and plasma. The assay uses a quantitative sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (sELISA) format on a microplate platform with colorimetric detection.

A monoclonal antibody specific for human IL-6 is pre-coated onto microwells. Standards or samples are pipetted into the wells, followed by a biotin-linked monoclonal antibody specific for IL-6. After incubation, any unbound substances are removed by washing and streptavidin-HRP is added. Following a second incubation and wash, a substrate solution reacts with HRP and color develops in proportion to the amount of IL-6 bound. The reaction is stopped by addition of acid and the optical density is measured by microplate reader. The kit can assay both native and recombinant human IL-6 and has shown no significant cross-reactivity.

The product range is 0.14 - 100 pg/ml, with a sensitivity of 0.03 pg/ml. Average recovery from serum samples is 83%. The kit should be stored at +4°C and not used past the expiration date.
