Human IFN-α ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human IFN-alpha in cell culture supernatant, serum, and plasma. The assay uses a quantitative sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay technique, in which a monoclonal antibody specific for human IFN-alpha is immobilized onto microwells.

Standards or samples are pipetted into the wells, followed by the addition of HRP-linked detection antibody specific for IFN-alpha. After incubation, unbound substances are removed and a substrate solution reacts with HRP, producing colour in proportion to the amount of IFN-alpha bound. The reaction is stopped by addition of acid and the optical density is measured by a microplate reader.

Run as a colorimetric assay on a microplate platform, the kit has a reported sensitivity of <1.04 pg/ml and an assay range of 15.63 - 1000 pg/ml. Average recovery from serum samples is reported as 106%. No significant cross-reactivity has been observed, and the kit can assay both native and recombinant human IFN-alpha. It should be stored at +4°C and not used past its expiration date.
