Description

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human CD168 — also known as the Hyaluronan Mediated Motility Receptor — in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological fluids, and is intended for use with human samples.

The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips, with an antibody specific for the target immobilised on the plate. Standards and test samples are added to the wells, followed by a Biotinylated Anti-CD168 Antibody and then an HRP-Avidin conjugate. A TMB substrate is added and the reaction is stopped with an acidic stop solution; absorbance is read at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader and CD168 concentration is calculated against a standard curve. Total assay time is 4h 30m.

Reported performance figures include a sensitivity of <0.066 ng/ml and an assay range of 0.156-10 ng/ml. In spiked recovery testing with n=5 samples each, average recovery across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma ranged from 84% to 91%, with individual ranges of 80-102% (serum), 81-100% (EDTA plasma) and 80-89% (heparin plasma). Dilution linearity from 1:2 to 1:16 produced recoveries spanning 74-108% across the same sample types. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and the kit must not be used past its expiration date.
