Human Homogentisate-1,2-Dioxygenase ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit enables the in vitro quantitative determination of human Homogentisate 1,2-Dioxygenase (HGD) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological fluids, with reactivity limited to human samples.

The assay employs a pre-coated 96-well microplate (12 x 8 well strips) bearing an antibody specific for HGD. Standards and test samples are added to the wells, followed by a Biotinylated Anti-HGD Antibody and an HRP-Avidin conjugate. Captured HGD is visualised using TMB substrate, producing a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of stop solution; absorbance is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader. Total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes, and kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed.

According to the manufacturer's specifications, the assay range is 0.156–10 ng/ml and the sensitivity is <0.063 ng/ml. Reported average recovery values (n=5) were 91% for serum (range 80–102%), 90% for EDTA plasma (range 81–100%) and 84% for heparin plasma (range 80–89%).
