Human Histatin 1 ELISA Kit

An enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay kit from Antibodies.com for the quantitative determination of human Histatin 1 (HTN1) in biological samples including tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids [C0, S1]. The kit uses a pre-coated microplate with colorimetric detection read at 450 nm using a microplate reader [S1]. HTN1 in samples competes with immobilized HTN1 antigen for binding sites on a biotinylated anti-HTN1 antibody; bound conjugate is then visualised using TMB substrate followed by an acidic stop solution, producing a yellow colour inversely proportional to the HTN1 concentration [S1].

Specific for human HTN1 [C0, S1], the assay has a measurement range of 0.156–10 ng/ml and a sensitivity of <0.053 ng/ml [S1]. Reported spike-and-recovery values average 91% in serum (range 80–102%), 90% in EDTA plasma (range 81–100%), and 84% in heparin plasma (range 80–89%) [S1]. The kit includes a pre-coated microplate, lyophilized standard, detection solutions, wash buffer, sample dilution buffer, TMB substrate, stop solution, and adhesive plate sealers, with components stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed [S1].
