Human Hexosaminidase A Alpha ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human HEXA in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, or other biological fluids. The kit uses the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique, in which an antibody specific for HEXA is pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and test samples are added, captured HEXA is bound by a biotinylated anti-HEXA antibody, and HRP-Avidin is used to catalyse the TMB substrate reaction, producing a yellow product whose absorbance at 450 nm is proportional to HEXA concentration.

The assay has a stated sensitivity of <0.059 ng/ml and a working range of 0.156–10 ng/ml. It is run on a pre-coated microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips, with a total assay time of approximately 4 h 30 min, and the signal is read on a colorimetric microplate reader.

Reported recovery values in spiked samples are 80–102% (serum, n=5), 81–100% (EDTA plasma, n=5) and 80–89% (heparin plasma, n=5). Kit components are stored at +4°C or –20°C as indicated, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
