Human Hephaestin ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA (sELISA) for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Hephaestin in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids, available from Antibodies.com under the Assays and Kits category. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate (12 x 8 well strips) in a sandwich enzyme immunoassay format: an antibody specific for Hephaestin is immobilised on the plate, standards and samples are added, followed by a Biotinylated Anti-Hephaestin Antibody, HRP-Avidin conjugate, and TMB substrate. The colour change is read at 450 nm in a microplate reader and Hephaestin concentration is determined against a standard curve.

Reported performance includes a sensitivity of 0.57 ng/ml, an assay range of 1.56–100 ng/ml, and a total assay time of 4h 30m. Spike-and-recovery values (n=5) are reported as 80–102% (mean 91%) for serum, 81–100% (mean 90%) for EDTA plasma, and 80–89% (mean 84%) for heparin plasma. Dilutional linearity data are reported across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 sample dilutions.
