Human Hepcidin ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Hepcidin in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

The 96-well microplate is pre-coated with an antibody specific for Hepcidin. Standards and samples are added to the wells; captured Hepcidin is detected using a biotinylated anti-Hepcidin antibody and HRP-Avidin conjugate, visualised with TMB substrate and quantified by absorbance at 450 nm against a standard curve. Total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes. The product range is 62.5-4000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of 23.5 pg/ml. Validated recovery across 5 samples per matrix averaged 95% in serum, 96% in EDTA plasma and 96% in heparin plasma, with linearity demonstrated across serial dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed.

The kit has been cited in a study of SIRT1-FOXO1 signalling in children with β-thalassemia major, in which hepcidin levels measured by ELISA formed part of an investigation into the early detection of premature atherosclerosis.
