Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit is intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Heme Oxygenase 1 (Decycling) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates, or other biological fluids. The assay is performed on a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips and read on a colorimetric microplate reader at 450 nm.

Reported quantitative performance includes a working standard range of 0.312–20 ng/ml and a sensitivity of 0.122 ng/ml, with an assay time of approximately 4 hours 30 minutes. Recovery data averaged 91% in serum, 90% in EDTA plasma and 84% in heparin plasma, and remained broadly consistent across sample dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16 in all three matrices.

The kit comprises a pre-coated 96-well microplate, lyophilized standard, Detection Solution A, Detection Solution B, 30X Wash Buffer, Sample Dilution Buffer, TMB Substrate, Stop Solution and adhesive plate sealers, stored at +4 °C or -20 °C as instructed; kits should not be used past the stated expiration date. Using the sandwich immunoassay principle, analyte captured by the immobilised antibody is detected with a biotinylated anti-Heme Oxygenase 1 antibody followed by HRP-Avidin and TMB substrate, producing a yellow product whose absorbance is proportional to Heme Oxygenase 1 concentration.
