Human Growth Hormone ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Growth Hormone in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay employs a pre-coated 96-well microtiter plate (12 x 8 well strips) bearing an antibody specific for Growth Hormone. Standards and samples are added to the wells, where Growth Hormone is captured by the immobilised antibody. After washing, a Biotinylated Anti-Growth Hormone Antibody is added, followed by HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate solution is then used to visualise the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue-coloured product that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the amount of Growth Hormone captured, and the concentration is calculated by reading the O.D. absorbance at 450 nm in a microplate reader and referring to the standard curve.

The product range is 0.156-10 ng/ml with a sensitivity of <0.059 ng/ml, and the total assay time is 4h 30m. Average recovery values are 91% for serum (n=5, range 80%-102%), 90% for EDTA plasma (n=5, range 81%-99%) and 84% for Heparin plasma (n=5, range 80%-89%). Sample dilutions from 1:2 up to 1:16 have been validated. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
