Human Glycophorin A ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Glycophorin A in tissue homogenates, cell lysates or other biological fluids. The assay employs a microplate pre-coated with an antibody specific for Glycophorin A. Standards and samples are added to the wells, where Glycophorin A is captured by the immobilised antibody. Following incubation and washing, a Biotinylated Anti-Glycophorin A Antibody is added, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. The enzymatic reaction is visualised with TMB substrate, producing a blue colour that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. Absorbance is read at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader and the concentration of Glycophorin A is calculated by reference to a standard curve.

The kit has a sensitivity of <0.113 ng/ml and an assay range of 0.312–20 ng/ml, with a total assay time of approximately 4 hours 30 minutes. Reported recovery values are 80%–102% (average 91%, n=5) in serum, 81%–100% (average 90%, n=5) in EDTA plasma and 80%–89% (average 84%, n=5) in heparin plasma. Dilution linearity across dilutions of 1:2 to 1:16 has been demonstrated for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma samples. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or −20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
