Human Glutathione S Transferase Alpha 5 ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, a sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Glutathione S-Transferase Alpha 5 (GSTA5) in serum, plasma or other biological fluids. The assay uses a 96-well microplate pre-coated with an antibody specific for GSTA5, with detection via a biotinylated anti-GSTA5 antibody, HRP-avidin conjugate and TMB substrate. The colour reaction is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader and the GSTA5 concentration is calculated by reference to a standard curve. Total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes.

Stated performance figures include a sensitivity of <0.25 ng/ml and an assay range of 0.625–40 ng/ml. In spike-and-recovery testing, serum samples (n=5) showed 80–102% recovery with a 91% average; EDTA plasma (n=5) showed 81–100% with a 90% average; and heparin plasma (n=5) showed 80–89% with an 84% average. Linearity was assessed at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions. Serum (n=5) values were 70–107%, 89–93%, 86–104% and 80–103%; EDTA plasma (n=5) gave 95–100%, 85–110%, 81–99% and 90–102%; heparin plasma (n=5) gave 77–104%, 88–95%, 94–104% and 80–107%.

The kit comprises a pre-coated 96-well microplate (12 × 8 well strips), lyophilised standard, Detection Solution A, Detection Solution B, 30× wash buffer, sample dilution buffer, TMB substrate, stop solution and adhesive plate sealers. Components are stored at either -20°C or +4°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
