Human Glucagon ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Glucagon in serum, plasma and other biological fluids. The assay employs a pre-coated microplate with an antibody specific for Glucagon, together with a biotinylated detection antibody and an HRP conjugate, with colourimetric readout via TMB substrate. Standards and samples are added to the coated wells where Glucagon is captured by the immobilised antibody; after washing and incubation, TMB substrate produces a blue colour that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. The absorbance at 450 nm is proportional to Glucagon concentration and is read against a standard curve.

The stated assay range is 23.4–1500 pg/ml with a sensitivity of less than 7.3 pg/ml, and the protocol takes approximately 4 hours 30 minutes. Spike-and-recovery has been validated in serum (range 83%–100%, average 91%, n=5), EDTA plasma (range 81%–100%, average 90%, n=5) and heparin plasma (range 83%–98%, average 90%, n=5).
