Human Galectin 8 ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Galectin 8 (Gal-8) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated microplate format with a colourmetric detection read at 450 nm in a microplate reader, based on a biotinylated anti-Galectin 8/Gal-8 antibody, an HRP-avidin conjugate and a TMB substrate system; the density of the yellow colour produced after addition of stop solution is proportional to the amount of Galectin 8/Gal-8 captured in each well, and the concentration is calculated by reference to a standard curve.

Quantitative measurement is supported across a product range of 0.312–20 ng/ml with a sensitivity of <0.116 ng/ml, and the total assay time is 4 h 30 min. Reported average recovery from serum is 91% (range 80%–102%, n=5), from EDTA plasma 90% (range 81%–100%, n=5), and from Heparin plasma 84% (range 80%–89%, n=5), with dilution-linearity data provided for 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 sample dilutions. Kit components are to be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed on each item, and the kit must not be used past its stated expiration date.
