Human Galectin 4 ELISA Kit

This sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Galectin 4 (GAL4) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids. The assay employs a 96-well microplate pre-coated with an antibody specific for GAL4. Standards and samples are added to the wells, where GAL4 is captured by the immobilised antibody. After washing, a biotinylated anti-GAL4 detection antibody is added, followed by HRP-avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then used to visualise the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of stop solution; the absorbance is read at 450 nm.

The assay has a quantitative measuring range of 0.312–20 ng/ml and a sensitivity of <0.132 ng/ml, with a total run time of 4 hours 30 minutes. It has been validated for use with human serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma samples, and is read on a standard colorimetric microplate reader.
