Human Galectin-3 ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Galectin-3 in cell culture supernatant, serum and plasma. The kit applies a quantitative sandwich immunoassay technique: a monoclonal antibody specific for human Galectin-3 is immobilized on microwells, and standards or samples are pipetted in, followed by a biotin-linked detection antibody specific for Galectin-3. After washing, streptavidin-HRP is added and a substrate solution reacts with HRP to develop colour in proportion to the amount of Galectin-3 bound. The reaction is stopped with acid and the optical density is measured on a microplate reader.

Reactivity is restricted to human samples, with specificity for both native and recombinant human Galectin-3 and no significant cross-reactivity reported. Detection is colorimetric on a microplate platform. The assay range is 62.50–4000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of 2.46 pg/ml, and the average recovery from serum samples is 101%. The kit should be stored at +4°C and not used past the expiration date.
