Human Galectin 12 ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay from Antibodies.com for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Galectin 12 (GAL12) in serum, plasma or other biological fluids. The kit employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique on a pre-coated microplate, with a GAL12-specific antibody immobilised in the wells. Standards and test samples are added, followed by a Biotinylated Anti-GAL12 Antibody and an HRP-Avidin conjugate. A TMB substrate solution is then used to visualise the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue-coloured product that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. Absorbance is read at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader and the GAL12 concentration is calculated by reference to a standard curve.

The assay is reactive with human samples and has a stated sensitivity of <0.085 ng/ml with an assay range of 0.312–20 ng/ml. Total assay time is 4 h 30 min. Reported recovery values across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma samples, tested at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 (n=5 per sample type), span 73% to 110%, with mean recoveries of 91% for serum, 96% for EDTA plasma and 95% for heparin plasma.
