Human Galanin ELISA Kit

Antibodies.com offers this competitive Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (cELISA) intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Galanin in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates or other biological fluids. The kit has been validated for human reactivity and targets the Galanin protein.

Assay performance is defined by a product range of 15.6-1000 pg/ml and a sensitivity of 4.26 pg/ml, with a total run time of 2 hours 30 minutes. Detection is colorimetric, read at 450 nm using a microplate reader, and the assay is supplied on a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips. In the workflow, Galanin in samples or standards competes with immobilised antigen for binding to a Biotinylated Anti-Galanin Antibody; bound antibody is detected using HRP-Avidin and a TMB substrate, yielding a yellow product whose intensity is inversely proportional to Galanin concentration.

Recovery has been characterised for serum (n=5, range 80-102%, average 91%), EDTA plasma (n=5, range 81-100%, average 90%) and Heparin plasma (n=5, range 80-89%, average 84%). Linearity has been demonstrated at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions across these same sample types. Kit components are to be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed in the protocol, and the reagents should not be used past their stated expiration date.
