Human Follistatin ELISA Kit

Antibodies.com Human Follistatin ELISA Kit is a sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Follistatin in serum, plasma or other biological fluids. The assay employs a pre-coated 96-well microplate (12 x 8 well strips) onto which an antibody specific for Follistatin has been immobilised. Standards and test samples are added to the wells, followed by a Biotinylated Anti-Follistatin Antibody and an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then used to visualise the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue product that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. The density of yellow, proportional to the amount of Follistatin captured in each well, is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader.

The stated assay range is 3.12–200 ng/ml with a sensitivity of <1.23 ng/ml, and the total assay time is 4h 30m. Recovery has been characterised across sample types, with averages of 91% in serum (n=5, range 80–102%), 90% in EDTA plasma (n=5, range 81–99%) and 84% in heparin plasma (n=5, range 80–89%). Sample dilution linearity is also reported across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma.

Kit components include the pre-coated 96-well microplate, lyophilised standard, Detection Solution A, Detection Solution B, 30X Wash Buffer, Sample Dilution Buffer, TMB Substrate, Stop Solution and adhesive plate sealers, with storage at either +4°C or -20°C depending on the component. The kit should not be used past its expiration date.
