Human Follistatin ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this quantitative sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) is designed for the in vitro measurement of human Follistatin in cell culture supernatant, serum and plasma. A monoclonal antibody specific for human Follistatin is pre-immobilized on the microwells; standards or samples are pipetted in, followed by a biotin-linked monoclonal antibody specific for Follistatin. After incubation and washing to remove unbound substances, streptavidin-HRP is added. Substrate then reacts with HRP and colour develops in proportion to the amount of Follistatin bound. The reaction is stopped by addition of acid and the optical density is read on a microplate reader.

The kit can assay both native and recombinant human Follistatin and shows no significant cross-reactivity. Reported performance includes a product range of 62.50 – 4000 pg/ml, a sensitivity of 4.99 pg/ml and an average recovery of 108% from serum samples. Detection is colorimetric on a microplate platform. The kit should be stored at +4°C and not used past its expiration date.
