Human Fibroblast Growth Factor 21 ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA for the quantitative measurement of human Fibroblast Growth Factor 21 (FGF21), supplied by Antibodies.com. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips and follows a capture–detect workflow: FGF21 in the sample is bound by an immobilised antibody, detected with a biotinylated anti-FGF21 antibody, then visualised using HRP-Avidin and TMB substrate, with absorbance read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader.

Validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, with reactivity against human FGF21. The manufacturer reports a sensitivity of <0.65 pg/ml and a product range of 1.56–100 pg/ml. Spiked recovery in serum averages 91% (range 83%–100%, n=5), in EDTA plasma averages 96% (range 90%–103%, n=5) and in heparin plasma averages 94% (range 90%–99%, n=5). Linearity has been demonstrated at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma. Total assay time is approximately 4h 30m.

Components include the pre-coated plate, lyophilised standard (2 vials), detection solutions, wash and sample dilution buffers, TMB substrate, stop solution and adhesive plate sealers. Kit reagents are stored at +4°C or −20°C as indicated on each component, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
