Human Fibroblast Growth Factor 18 ELISA Kit

A sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Fibroblast Growth Factor 18 (FGF18) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates or other biological fluids. The kit employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique using a microplate pre-coated with an antibody specific for FGF18. Standards and test samples are added to the wells, where FGF18 is captured by the immobilized antibody. Following incubation and washing, a Biotinylated Anti-FGF18 Antibody binds the captured FGF18, after which an HRP-Avidin conjugate is added. TMB substrate is then used to visualize the reaction, producing a blue-coloured product that turns yellow upon addition of the acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the amount of FGF18 captured, and absorbance is read at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader; FGF18 concentration is calculated by reference to the standard curve.

The assay has a stated product range of 15.6–1000 pg/ml and a sensitivity of <6.5 pg/ml. Reported mean recoveries (n=5) are 91% in serum (range 83–100%), 96% in EDTA plasma (range 90–103%) and 95% in heparin plasma (range 89–102%). Total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes, and kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed; the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
