Human Fibroblast Growth Factor 1, Acidic ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA kit from Antibodies.com enables the in vitro quantitative determination of human FGF1 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates or other biological fluids. FGF1 is also known as acidic fibroblast growth factor, aFGF, ECGF, endothelial cell growth factor, HBGF-1 and heparin-binding growth factor 1. The assay uses an antibody specific for FGF1 pre-coated onto a 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips, with a biotinylated anti-FGF1 detection antibody and HRP-avidin conjugate. After incubation with TMB substrate, absorbance is read at 450 nm and concentration calculated from a standard curve.

The kit has a sensitivity of <0.61 pg/ml and a working range of 1.56–100 pg/ml, and the total assay time is 4 h 30 min. Reported recovery in serum (n=5) spans 80%–102% (average 91%), in EDTA plasma 81%–100% (average 90%), and in heparin plasma 80%–89% (average 84%). Dilutional linearity for serum at 1:2 to 1:16 falls between 74%–107%, EDTA plasma between 79%–108%, and heparin plasma between 82%–105%.
