Human Fatty Acid Desaturase 3 ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit enables the in vitro quantitative determination of human Fatty Acid Desaturase 3 (FADS3) in tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay uses the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique, in which an antibody specific for FADS3 is pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are added to the wells; captured FADS3 is detected using a Biotinylated Anti-FADS3 Antibody followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. A TMB substrate is then used to visualise the reaction, producing a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. The concentration of FADS3 is calculated from the O.D. absorbance at 450 nm referenced to a standard curve.

The stated assay range is 0.312–20 ng/ml with a sensitivity of <0.082 ng/ml, read on a colorimetric microplate reader. Reported recovery ranges in human serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma (n=5 each) are 80%–102%, 81%–100%, and 80%–89% respectively, with dilution linearity data provided at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16.
