Human Fatty Acid Binding Protein 7, Brain ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human BLBP, also referred to as Fatty Acid Binding Protein 7, Brain, in serum, plasma or other biological fluids. The assay employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique: a BLBP-specific antibody is pre-coated onto a microplate, standards and samples are added, and bound analyte is detected using a Biotinylated Anti-BLBP Antibody, an HRP-Avidin conjugate and TMB substrate. The enzymatic reaction produces a coloured product that is measured at 450 nm on a microplate reader, with concentration calculated against a standard curve. Detection is colorimetric.

Reported performance characteristics include a sensitivity of 0.18 ng/ml, an assay range of 0.468–30 ng/ml, and a total assay time of 4 hours 30 minutes. Recovery in spiked samples has been validated across matrices: serum (n=5) averaged 91% across a range of 80%–102%, EDTA plasma (n=5) averaged 90% across 81%–100%, and heparin plasma (n=5) averaged 84% across 80%–89%. Dilution linearity has been assessed at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions, with serum recoveries of 87–91%, 87–107%, 74–101% and 92–97% respectively, EDTA plasma recoveries of 90–105%, 84–101%, 90–101% and 79–108%, and heparin plasma recoveries of 84–95%, 92–105%, 82–105% and 89–91%.

The kit is supplied with a pre-coated microplate in a 12 x 8 well strip format, lyophilized standard, Detection Solutions A and B, Wash Buffer (30X), Sample Dilution Buffer, TMB Substrate, Stop Solution and plate sealers. Components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as indicated on the labels, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
