Human Fatty Acid Binding Protein 6, Ileal ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA kit from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Fatty Acid Binding Protein 6, Ileal (FABP6) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, or other biological fluids. It is reactive with human samples and uses a colourimetric readout on a microplate reader.

The assay employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. An antibody specific for FABP6 is pre-coated onto a 96-well microplate; standards and test samples are added and any FABP6 present is captured by the immobilised antibody. After washing, a Biotinylated Anti-FABP6 Antibody is added, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then used to visualise the HRP reaction, producing a blue product that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. Absorbance is read at 450 nm and the concentration of FABP6 is calculated by reference to the standard curve.

Reported performance figures are: sensitivity <0.055 ng/ml and assay range 0.156–10 ng/ml. Average recovery is 91% in serum (range 80–102%, n=5), 90% in EDTA plasma (range 81–100%, n=5), and 84% in heparin plasma (range 80–89%, n=5). Dilution linearity is reported for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16. Total assay time is 4h 30m.
