Human Fatty Acid Binding Protein 5, Epidermal ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Fatty Acid Binding Protein 5, Epidermal (FABP5) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids. An antibody specific for FABP5 is pre-coated onto a 96-well microtiter plate, and standards or samples are added to the wells so that FABP5 binds to the immobilised capture antibody.

After incubation and washing, a biotinylated anti-FABP5 antibody binds the captured analyte, followed by addition of an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then used to visualise the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue-coloured product that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. Absorbance is read at 450 nm in a microplate reader. The reported product range is 0.312–20 ng/ml with a sensitivity of 0.115 ng/ml, and total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes. Reported recovery ranges (n=5) are 80%–102% for serum, 81%–100% for EDTA plasma, and 80%–89% for heparin plasma. Kit components are stored at +4°C or −20°C as instructed.
