Human Enkephalin ELISA Kit

Designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Enkephalin/ENK, this competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (cELISA) is supplied by Antibodies.com and is suitable for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

The kit employs the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique using a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips. During incubation, Enkephalin/ENK present in samples or standards competes with a fixed amount of immobilized antigen for binding sites on a Biotinylated Anti-Enkephalin/ENK Antibody. After washing to remove unbound antibody, an HRP-Avidin conjugate is added, followed by TMB substrate solution that yields a blue colour changing to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. Absorbance is measured at 450 nm using a colorimetric microplate reader.

The assay has a measuring range of 15.6-1000 pg/ml and a sensitivity of 6.85 pg/ml, with a total assay time of approximately 2 hours 30 minutes. Reported recovery averages 91% in serum (range 80%-102%, n=5), 90% in EDTA plasma (range 81%-100%, n=5) and 84% in heparin plasma (range 80%-89%, n=5). Kit components include a pre-coated 96-well microplate, lyophilized standard (2 vials), Detection Solution A (70 μl), Detection Solution B (120 μl), 30X Wash Buffer (20 ml), Sample Dilution Buffer (45 ml), TMB Substrate (9 ml), Stop Solution (6 ml) and plate sealers, with storage at +4°C or -20°C as specified.
