From Antibodies.com, this Human Endothelial Cell Specific Molecule 1 (ESM1) ELISA Kit is a sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human ESM1 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates or other biological fluids.

The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate together with a biotinylated anti-ESM1 detection antibody, an HRP-avidin conjugate and a TMB substrate. The enzymatic reaction produces a yellow product whose absorbance is read at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader, and ESM1 concentration is calculated by reference to the standard curve. The total assay time is 4h 30m, and the kit is intended for use with human samples.

Reported performance characteristics include a standard curve range of 15.6–1000 pg/ml and a sensitivity of <6.4 pg/ml. In spike-and-recovery testing, average recovery was 91% in serum (n=5, range 80–102%), 90% in EDTA plasma (n=5, range 81–100%) and 84% in heparin plasma (n=5, range 80–89%). Dilution linearity was demonstrated at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 across the same sample matrices. Kit components are stored at +4°C or −20°C as indicated, and the kit must not be used past its expiration date.
