Human Desmin ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Desmin in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids. The procedure uses a 96-well microplate pre-coated with an antibody specific for Desmin. Standards and test samples are added to the wells, where Desmin is captured by the immobilized antibody. Following incubation and washing, a Biotinylated Anti-Desmin Antibody is added, followed by HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate solution is then used to visualise the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue colour that changes to yellow upon addition of stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the amount of Desmin captured in each well, and the concentration is calculated by reading the O.D. absorbance at 450 nm in a microplate reader and referring to the standard curve.

Quantitative performance characteristics include a measuring range of 0.312-20 ng/ml and a sensitivity of <0.137 ng/ml, with a total assay time of 4h 30m. Detection is colorimetric using a standard microplate reader, and the assay is validated for use with serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma samples in addition to tissue homogenates.
