Human Defensin Beta 1 ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human beta Defensin 1 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate (12 x 8 well strips) with a capture antibody specific for beta Defensin 1. Standards and samples are added to the wells, followed by a Biotinylated Anti-beta Defensin 1 Antibody and an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate produces a blue colour that turns yellow upon addition of stop solution; absorbance is read at 450 nm and the concentration is calculated against the standard curve. The detection range is 62.5–4000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of <25.3 pg/ml, and the total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes.

Typical spike-and-recovery values in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma fall between 80–99%, with average recoveries of 91%, 89% and 90% respectively (n=5). Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
