Human Defensin Alpha 6, Paneth Cell Specific ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human DEFA6 (Defensin Alpha 6, Paneth Cell Specific) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological fluids.

The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate (12 x 8 well strips) and follows a sandwich immunoassay format: a DEFA6-specific antibody is immobilised on the plate, samples and standards are added, and captured DEFA6 is detected using a biotinylated anti-DEFA6 antibody followed by HRP-avidin and TMB substrate. The reaction is stopped with acidic stop solution and read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader. Reported sensitivity is <1.07 ng/ml and the assay range is 2.34–150 ng/ml, with a total assay time of 4h 30m. Kit components are stored at +4°C or −20°C as instructed.

Reported spike-and-recovery values are: serum (n=5) 80–102%, average 91%; EDTA plasma (n=5) 81–100%, average 90%; heparin plasma (n=5) 80–89%, average 84%. Linearity of dilution (1:2, 1:4, 1:8, 1:16) was reported as: serum (n=5) 70–107%, 89–93%, 86–104%, 80–103%; EDTA plasma (n=5) 95–100%, 85–110%, 81–99%, 90–102%; heparin plasma (n=5) 77–104%, 88–95%, 94–104%, 80–107%.
