Human Connexin 43 ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Antibodies.com designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Connexin 43/GJA1 in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological fluids.

The assay uses a pre-coated microplate, a biotinylated detection antibody and an HRP-avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is used to visualise the enzymatic reaction, producing a yellow product after addition of acidic stop solution whose absorbance is read at 450 nm. Reported sensitivity is <0.054 ng/ml and the assay range is 0.156–10 ng/ml. Total assay time is 4h 30m. Recovery has been observed across serum (average 91%, range 83–100%), EDTA plasma (average 94%, range 91–98%) and heparin plasma (average 94%, range 90–99%); diluted samples from 1:2 to 1:16 typically give values within the broader 70–110% range across these matrices.

Components include pre-coated microplate strips, lyophilised standard, detection solutions A and B, wash buffer, sample dilution buffer, TMB substrate, stop solution and plate sealers. Storage is at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and the kit must not be used past its stated expiry date.
