Human Complement Receptor 2 ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this assay provides quantitative in vitro determination of human CD21, also known as Complement Receptor 2, in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, or other biological fluids. The kit uses a sandwich enzyme immunoassay format on a pre-coated microplate, with a total assay time of approximately 4h 30m.

An antibody specific for CD21 is pre-coated onto the wells, where standards and samples are added and bound by the immobilised antibody. Following washing, a biotinylated anti-CD21 antibody is applied, followed by an HRP-avidin conjugate and TMB substrate. The resulting colour change is read at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader, with intensity proportional to the CD21 concentration. The quoted assay range is 0.312–20 ng/ml and sensitivity is <0.122 ng/ml.

The kit is suitable for serum, plasma, and tissue homogenates, with reported average recovery values of 91% for serum, 90% for EDTA plasma, and 84% for heparin plasma across tested samples. Components should be stored at +4°C or –20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
