The assay uses a 96-well plate pre-coated with an antibody specific for GCSF Receptor, with bound analyte detected using a biotinylated anti-GCSF Receptor antibody, an HRP-Avidin conjugate, and TMB substrate. The colour change is read as absorbance at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader.

The kit has a stated sensitivity of 0.059 ng/ml and an assay range of 0.156–10 ng/ml. The protocol takes approximately 4 hours 30 minutes.
