Human Collagen Type VI Alpha 3 ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) enables the in vitro quantitative determination of human COL6A3 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids. The assay platform is a pre-coated microplate with 12 x 8 well strips, using a colourimetric detection method read at 450 nm. Standards and samples are added to wells pre-coated with an antibody specific for COL6A3; after incubation and washing, a Biotinylated Anti-COL6A3 Antibody binds the captured analyte, followed by HRP-Avidin conjugate and TMB substrate. The intensity of yellow colour is directly proportional to the COL6A3 concentration, calculated by reference to the standard curve.

The kit has a sensitivity of <12.7 pg/ml and an assay range of 31.2-2000 pg/ml, with a total assay time of 4 hours 30 minutes. Detection is colourimetric on a microplate reader. Spike-and-recovery validation showed serum at an average of 91% (range 80-102%, n=5), EDTA plasma at 91% (range 81-101%, n=5), and heparin plasma at 84% (range 80-89%, n=5). Linearity was assessed across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
