Human Collagen Type V Alpha 2 ELISA Kit

Antibodies.com provides a sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (sELISA) kit designed for the quantitative in vitro determination of human Collagen V in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids.

The assay uses the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique on a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips. Standards and samples are added to the wells, where Collagen V is captured by the immobilised antibody. After washing, a biotinylated anti-Collagen V antibody is added, followed by an HRP-avidin conjugate. TMB substrate then visualises the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue colour that changes to yellow upon addition of the acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the amount of Collagen V captured, and the concentration is calculated by reading the absorbance at 450 nm in a microplate reader against the standard curve.

The reported assay range is 78.1-5000 ng/ml with a sensitivity of <34 ng/ml. The complete assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past the stated expiration date.
