Human Collagen Type I Alpha 2 ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Antibodies.com for the quantitative determination of human COL1A2 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate (12 x 8 well strips); standards and samples are added, followed by a biotinylated anti-COL1A2 antibody and an HRP-avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then added, producing a yellow product whose intensity is proportional to COL1A2 concentration; absorbance is read at 450 nm in a microplate reader and the concentration is calculated from the standard curve.

The kit reports a sensitivity of 0.046 ng/ml and an assay range of 0.156–10 ng/ml, with a total assay time of 4 hours 30 minutes. Recovery (n=5) has been characterised in serum (range 80–102%, average 91%), EDTA plasma (range 81–101%, average 91%) and heparin plasma (range 80–89%, average 84%), and linearity has been examined at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 across the same matrices.

Kit components include the pre-coated 96-well microplate, lyophilised standard, detection solutions A and B, 30X wash buffer, sample dilution buffer, TMB substrate, stop solution and plate sealers. Components should be stored at +4°C or –20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
