Human Collagen Type I Alpha 1 ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com, designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Collagen I in serum, plasma or other biological fluids. The assay uses a 96-well microtiter plate pre-coated with an antibody specific for Collagen I. Standards and test samples are added to the wells, where the Collagen I present is bound by the immobilized antibody. Following incubation and washing, a Biotinylated Anti-Collagen I Antibody is added to bind the captured analyte, then HRP-Avidin conjugate is introduced and the plate incubated. TMB substrate solution is then used to visualise the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue-coloured product that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. The intensity of yellow is proportional to the amount of Collagen I captured in each well, and concentration is calculated by reading O.D. absorbance at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader against the standard curve.

The kit reports a product range of 0.312–20 ng/ml and a sensitivity of 0.133 ng/ml, with a total assay time of 4h 30m. It is reactive with human samples and is run on a colorimetric microplate reader. Kit contents comprise a pre-coated 96-well microplate (12 x 8 well strips), lyophilized standard, Detection Solution A, Detection Solution B, Wash Buffer (30X), Sample Dilution Buffer, TMB Substrate, Stop Solution, and plate sealers, to be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and not used past the expiration date.
