Human Cofilin 1, Non Muscle ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Cofilin in tissue homogenates, cell lysates or other biological fluids. The Antibodies.com kit uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips. An antibody specific for Cofilin is immobilised on the plate; standards and samples are added, followed by a Biotinylated Anti-Cofilin Antibody and an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is used to visualise the reaction, producing a blue product that turns yellow after the acidic stop solution is added. Absorbance is read at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader and the Cofilin concentration is calculated against a standard curve.

The assay has a stated sensitivity of 0.056 ng/ml and a product range of 0.156–10 ng/ml, with a total assay time of 4 h 30 min. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and the kit should not be used past its expiration date. The platform is described as suitable for cell lysates and tissue homogenates.

Validation data supplied with the kit report average recovery ranges in serum (80–102%), EDTA plasma (81–100%) and heparin plasma (80–89%) at n=5, together with dilution linearity figures at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 across the same three sample matrices.
