Human Coagulation Factor XII ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Factor XII in plasma or other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate on which an antibody specific for Factor XII has been immobilised. Standards and samples are added, followed by a biotinylated anti-Factor XII antibody and an HRP-avidin conjugate; TMB substrate is then added and the enzymatic reaction is stopped with acidic stop solution, producing a yellow colour whose intensity, read at 450 nm in a microplate reader, is proportional to the amount of Factor XII captured.

According to the manufacturer, the assay range is 0.156–10 ng/ml and the sensitivity is <0.065 ng/ml. The platform is a pre-coated microplate comprising 12 x 8 well strips, and the total assay time is 4h 30m. Detection is colourimetric and reactivity is specific to human samples. The kit should not be used past its expiration date.

Recovery has been evaluated across serial dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16. Reported averages (n=5) are 91% for serum (range 83%–100%), 96% for EDTA plasma (range 90%–103%), and 95% for heparin plasma (range 89%–102%). Kit components are to be stored at +4°C or -20°C as indicated on the label.
