Human Ciliary Neurotrophic Factor ELISA Kit

The Antibodies.com Human Ciliary Neurotrophic Factor ELISA Kit is a sandwich ELISA intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of human CNTF in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates or other biological fluids. The assay is performed on a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips and is read on a colorimetric microplate reader at 450 nm.

CNTF in standards or samples is captured by an immobilised antibody and then detected with a Biotinylated Anti-CNTF Antibody followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate produces a blue colour that turns yellow on addition of the acidic stop solution, with the absorbance proportional to the CNTF concentration in each well.

Manufacturer-reported performance figures include an assay range of 46.8–3000 pg/ml and a sensitivity of <17.36 pg/ml. Average spike-and-recovery values were 91% for serum (n=5, range 80–102%), 90% for EDTA plasma (n=5, range 81–100%) and 84% for heparin plasma (n=5, range 80–89%), with dilution linearity reported for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16. Total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes. Kit components include a pre-coated 96-well microplate, lyophilised standard, detection solutions A and B, 30X wash buffer, sample dilution buffer, TMB substrate, stop solution and plate sealers; components should be stored at +4°C or −20°C as instructed.
