From Antibodies.com, this competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (cELISA) is intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of human HCG alpha in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The 96-well microplate is pre-coated with HCG alpha antigen, and the assay employs a biotinylated anti-HCG alpha antibody together with an HRP-avidin conjugate and a TMB substrate, with absorbance read at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader. The procedure is run in 2 hours 30 minutes.

Reported specifications include a product range of 0.156–10 ng/ml and a sensitivity of <0.060 ng/ml. Spike-and-recovery values are given for serum (range 80–102%, average 91%, n=5), EDTA plasma (range 81–100%, average 90%, n=5) and heparin plasma (range 80–89%, average 84%, n=5), alongside dilution linearity data for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16.
