Human Cholesterol-25-Hydroxylase ELISA Kit

This sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Cholesterol 25 Hydroxylase (CH25H) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, or other biological fluids. Detection is performed by reading the absorbance at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader.

The kit offers a sensitivity of 0.252 ng/ml and a quantitative range of 0.625-40 ng/ml. The total assay time is approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes. CH25H present in a sample is captured by the antibody immobilised on the microplate, followed by incubation with a biotinylated anti-CH25H antibody and an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then added, producing a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of the acidic stop solution; the intensity of the yellow colour is directly proportional to the amount of CH25H captured in each well.

Validation data are provided for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma. Reported average recovery values are 91% for serum (n=5, range 83-100%), 94% for EDTA plasma (n=5, range 90-99%) and 96% for heparin plasma (n=5, range 91-101%). Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the product is intended for research use only.
