Description

Offered by Antibodies.com, this competitive ELISA kit enables the in vitro quantitative determination of human Cholecystokinin 8 (octapeptide) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a competitive enzyme immunoassay technique on a pre-coated microplate supplied as 12 x 8 well strips. Cholecystokinin 8 present in samples or standards competes with immobilized antigen for binding sites on a Biotinylated Anti-Cholecystokinin 8 Antibody; an HRP-Avidin conjugate and TMB substrate then generate a yellow colour whose intensity, read at 450 nm, is inversely proportional to target concentration and is quantified by reference to a standard curve on a colorimetric microplate reader.

The kit has a stated product range of 15.6-1000 pg/ml and a sensitivity of <4.46 pg/ml, with a total assay time of approximately 2 hours 30 minutes. Reported average spike-and-recovery values are 91% for serum (range 80%-102%, n=5), 90% for EDTA plasma (81%-100%, n=5) and 84% for heparin plasma (80%-89%, n=5). Dilution linearity across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions is reported within ranges of 87-91% / 87-107% / 74-101% / 92-97% for serum, 90-105% / 84-101% / 90-101% / 79-108% for EDTA plasma and 84-95% / 92-105% / 82-105% / 89-91% for heparin plasma. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and the kit is not to be used past its expiration date.
