Human Caveolin 1 ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this kit is a sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Caveolin 1 in tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates or other biological fluids. It uses the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique on a pre-coated microplate: standards and samples are added to wells where Caveolin 1 is captured by an immobilised antibody, followed by a Biotinylated Anti-Caveolin 1 detection antibody and an HRP-Avidin conjugate. The enzymatic reaction is visualised using TMB substrate solution, which produces a blue product that changes to yellow upon addition of an acidic stop solution; the intensity of yellow is proportional to the amount of Caveolin 1 captured, and the concentration is calculated by reading the O.D. absorbance at 450nm in a colorimetric microplate reader against a standard curve.

Reactivity is limited to human samples. The assay is reported with a product range of 0.234–15 ng/ml and a sensitivity of <0.07 ng/ml, with a total assay time of 4h 30m. Reported average recovery is 91% in serum (range 80–102%, n=5), 90% in EDTA plasma (range 81–100%, n=5) and 84% in heparin plasma (range 80–89%, n=5), with dilution linearity reported across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 for all three sample types. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
